Whole Home Remodel | Powdersville

Whole home remodel in easley powdersville sc

Built in 1989, this Easley/Powdersville Home had a lot of potential but needed some repairs and updates. Our clients followed the Design Process, working out cabinetry layouts, selecting new finishes, and coordinating paint & stain colors. While most of the home’s layout remained unchanged, the primary bathroom was completely gutted and reworked. In the end, the project came together better than our clients had imagined!

Let’s walk through the updates room by room!

The Entryway

Entryway remodels offer one of the highest returns on investment, and this entryway is no different. The exterior of this home was facing rot issues due to ivy & trees (previously removed). The porch structure was completely rotted, the paint was chipping, and the front door had seen better days. We replaced the front door with a double front door with an elliptical transom. We demoed the entryway structure down to the roof framing and replaced all the wood and trim details. This before and after is a fun one!

The Living Room

Now, we enter the living room. We made simple updates in this room, including new paint and carpet. But the real heart of this room is the fireplace, which received a complete makeover with a marble tile surround. This one update to the fireplace has completely transformed the look and feel of the space!

The Kitchen

Our goal in the kitchen was to make the biggest impact possible while utilizing the original cabinets to keep costs down. We made several layout changes to maximize storage, including removing a peninsula, adding an island breakfast bar, and coffee bar. We used a trusted Custom Cabinet Trade Partner to create the new cabinets and match the door profiles to the old doors. After refinishing the existing cabinets and painting them all to match, the difference is indistinguishable, and we saved our clients  $50,000–$60,000 in cabinet costs!

One fun feature we like to point out is the breakfast bar, which utilizes the “breakfast nook” space in a new and unconventional way – one that is much more functional for our clients and offers additional storage!

The Primary Bath

This space might be our favorite part! This bathroom had all the elements of a classic 90’s bathroom: a large garden tub, limited storage, and a tiny, enclosed shower prone to mold issues. The homeowners were concerned about some water damage they’d discovered, and as we uncovered the sub-floor, it revealed a large area that was caving in.

The NEW bathroom is completely unrecognizable. Instead of the garden tub taking up all the square footage, a spacious shower now takes its place, featuring a freestanding tub for an integrated spa experience. This redesign has added space for the vanity and a cabinet tower for additional storage. The small water closet for the toilet has been replaced with a half-wall, further opening up the area. Best of all, with all the water and subfloor damage repaired, the homeowners no longer have to worry about their floor caving in while they’re getting ready for the day!

Accessible Upstairs Bathroom

A meaningful piece of this project was the upstairs bathroom – a space that needed some accessibility modifications. Our team created a zero-entry shower for easy access in and out, complete with grab bars and a handheld shower head. The shower corner is clipped for wheelchair accessibility throughout the space, and the vanity is open underneath for better usability.
